Oracle Design, ArtCenter and Centro team up for a great event
I recently coordinated an event between Oracle Design, ArtCenter College of Design, and CENTRO’s design school to host an exciting event tailored specifically for UX designers in Mexico who are eager to take their careers to the next level. This event was more than just a gathering—it provided a dynamic space for learning, networking, and exploring the latest trends and innovations in the UX design field.
The event featured keynotes from myself and Winston Wang, Vice President of User Experience Design at Oracle. We delved into the future of design and how AI is completely changing the way we are leading a paradigm shift in user experience design—both in how we approach the design of our product experiences and in the way we collaborate across teams internally to imagine and build them.
During our talks, we shared valuable insights into how our teams at Oracle Design are working to completely reimagine healthcare while also pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in UX design. One of the highlights we discussed was how our approach is also driving cultural change throughout the organization and how the future of the design discipline is evolving into a strategic partner at the highest levels. It was an exciting opportunity to highlight the expanding scope of UX and its growing importance in shaping business strategies and human-centric solutions.
The event also featured an inspiring panel discussion moderated by Maggie Hendrie, Dean of the Division of Media and Technology at ArtCenter, alongside several of Oracle’s top UX experts, including Oscar Murillo, Senior Director of User Experience Design, Marisa Parga, Senior User Experience Manager, Micah Sonderman, Senior Manager of User Experience Design, and Jimena Flores, Director of User Experience Design. This panel was an incredible opportunity for attendees to hear from seasoned professionals who shared their personal journeys within the UX field. Each panelist spoke about the challenges and triumphs they’ve experienced throughout their careers, offering practical advice and insights for those looking to make a career change or seeking new challenges within the UX design space.
What made this event truly unique, however, was the chance for attendees to engage directly with the speakers and panelists in virtual breakout rooms. This rare, interactive format allowed participants to ask questions, seek personalized advice, and build meaningful connections with some of the most influential figures in the UX industry. It was a fantastic opportunity for attendees to meet potential collaborators, ask in-depth questions, and explore career opportunities—all while making the event even more engaging and memorable.
Overall, the event was not only a chance to explore the latest in UX design but also an inspiring space where ideas were exchanged and future collaborations were sparked. It’s events like these that remind us of the power of community and the importance of continued growth and learning within the UX design field.
